SanDisk releases 4-terabyte SSD-drive Optimus Max

The company released the SanDisk SSD capacity of 4 TB and thereby reduced the maximum distance between the traditional HDD and SSD. The novelty is not focused on ordinary consumers, but the business sector.

This drive was named Optimus Max. In the sequential read / write mode speed approximately 400 MB/s. Drive is equipped with error correction technology, data protection and disaster recovery. Furthermore, it maintains one to three complete rewrites information stored on it during the day.


Drive is manufactured by new SSD 19 nm technology. SSD uses SAS interface 6 GB/s.


The company wants to produce in the future SSDs volume 6 TB and 8 TB. Exact date sales are not reported.
